U9 Girls' A Team v Braeside
On a hot Thursday afternoon, the U9 girls visited Braeside for their 2nd hockey match of the season. The first three quarters were very close and both sides hadn't managed to score a goal yet although they were occasional opportunities for both teams. A lone goal from Braeside saw us walk away with a one-nil loss.
It was a strong team performance with great skills from Mariella and the MVP Lizzie and determination across board. Special mentions to Reagan and Paula, who dominated the mid-field with support from Renee, Lilly and Chloe, who was excellent in goal. Well done girls!

In the other 2 quarters, the girls were strong both in defence and attack, as they tried to maintain the lead. They held their positions well and demonstrated good teamwork to see out the 1-0 win. Congratulations to all the girls for the amazing win and the effort they have shown.
U9 Boys' A Team v Braeside
BGE U9 boys played host to Braeside on Thursday. The game was fun to watch as it was evenly contested from the word go. Both teams enjoyed good spells of possession early in the game, especially in the midfield area. BGE found themselves on the back foot as they conceded a goal in the first quarter. From that moment on, BGE looked like the better team as they continued to play well and created a number of half chances. We were trailing at half-time, 1-0.
The boys' fighting spirit was evident throughout the remainder of the game as they went all out in search of an equaliser. Ranon scored a well-hit shot in the last quarter to make it 1-1. The boys also defended well, thanks to Shanay, who played as the last defender and ensured no ball went past him. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
U9 Boys' B Team v Braeside
The U9 boys B team fought hard on Thursday, managing to make it to half time with the score at 0-0 after some excellent defending. Unfortunately, our boys tired in the second half, making a couple of mistakes that allowed Braeside to score 4 quick goals and take a 4-0 victory. Lots to work on in our games sessions in the coming weeks.
Well done to all of the boys for their positive attitudes.
